What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking Structural Engineer(s) to join a collaborative building design team in Flushing, NY. You will help deliver building structural designs that meet applicable codes, quality standards, schedule and budget requirements, and support projects from concept through construction.

• Coordinate with architects, contractors, owners, and other engineers from initial planning through final construction
• Determine design criteria using relevant codes and standards
• Analyze and prepare models and calculations for structural elements and systems using software and hand calculations
• Develop contract documents, including construction drawings and technical specifications
• Produce schematic and detailed designs and evaluate planning/concept alternatives
• Review shop drawings and RFIs
• Perform field inspections and prepare inspection reports
• Provide construction support as needed

Qualifications

Candidates should demonstrate the technical skills and communication abilities needed to contribute to building design projects:

• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, RAM, and Excel
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Must be eligible to work in the United States

• Entry Level
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Intermediate Level
  • Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in concrete or steel framing building structural design, support-of-excavation and foundation design, rebar/shop drawing design, construction support, and field inspection
• Advanced Level
  • Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • 8+ years of related experience as above
  • NYS PE license required for advanced roles

Location & Compensation

This role is based in Flushing, NY (Queens County). The source post lists an estimated annual figure of approximately $83,453 (estimate). Final compensation, benefits and specific level will be determined by Confidential Client and will depend on experience and qualifications.
