What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Structural Engineer (EI) to join their transportation team in Westbrook, ME. You'll support bridge, retaining wall, culvert, and sign structure design for transportation projects, help prepare plans and specifications, and work alongside multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, resilient infrastructure.

  • Use MicroStation/InRoads and ORD design tools to support design development
  • Assist with design following agency practices and AASHTO LRFD standards
  • Prepare design calculations and quantity take-offs for cost estimating
  • Support completion of bridge construction plans and specifications
  • Conduct field visits and collect site information during design phases
  • Contribute to engineering reports, technical studies, and client/agency meetings
  • Analyze project data and present findings in tabular and graphic formats

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in structural design (Master’s preferred)
  • 1–3 years professional experience preferred; internships welcome
  • Engineering Intern (EI) designation preferred or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; MicroStation/InRoads experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with structural design practices and AASHTO LRFD desirable
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and project management skills
  • Problem-solving mindset, initiative, and ability to work effectively in teams

Compensation & Employment Type

  • Estimated salary: $83,518 per year (estimated by source)
  • Employment type: FULL_TIME
  • Final pay depends on education, experience, and work location. Some roles may be bonus eligible.
