What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring a Structural Engineer to support engineering activities for nuclear plant operations and large-scale capital projects. This role can be filled at Entry, Mid, or Senior levels — candidates will be considered based on experience and qualifications.
- Provide technical engineering expertise for design, analysis, and implementation of structural systems and modifications supporting plant operations.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert for identifying and resolving equipment and structural system issues.
- Lead or contribute to short- and long-term engineering programs that affect site reliability and safety.
- Prepare and review plans, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation; ensure configuration management and adherence to codes and standards.
- Perform independent research, technical studies, and engineering analyses to support projects and corrective actions.
- Recommend design improvements, new techniques, and materials to improve performance, reduce cost, or meet code changes.
- Support outage activities, emergency response, and cross-departmental engineering coverage as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS for Entry Level (E01)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil/Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, or Nuclear).
- Ability to meet site access and medical/fitness-for-duty requirements as applicable.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS for Mid-Level (E02)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil/Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, or Nuclear).
- ~2 years of nuclear or related engineering experience.
- Ability to meet site access and medical/fitness-for-duty requirements as applicable.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS for Senior (E03)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil/Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, or Nuclear).
- ~5 years of nuclear or related engineering experience.
- Ability to meet site access and medical/fitness-for-duty requirements as applicable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration or Structural Engineer license.
- Advanced technical degree or postgraduate coursework in structural engineering.
- 2+ years of relevant structural design/analysis experience preferred.
- Experience with structural support design and analysis (cable supports, trays, mounting, load analysis, concrete and steel analysis, foundation design).
- Familiarity with structural analysis/design software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, SAFE).
- Experience on large capital improvement or plant modification projects.
Compensation & Total Rewards
Ranges below are annual and depend on level and experience. Confidential Client provides a comprehensive benefits package including bonus eligibility, 401(k) match, health benefits, paid time off, and other programs.
- Entry-Level: $87,000
- Mid-Level: $92,700 – $114,000
- Senior: $122,400 – $154,000
