What You’ll Do

This entry-level structural engineering role supports nuclear power projects and related modifications. Working on a multi-disciplinary team, you will apply academic training to real-world design challenges and gain mentorship from senior engineers.

  • Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, equipment and piping supports, and foundations using modern engineering tools
  • Prepare design calculations and supporting documentation for structural systems, including wind and seismic loading conditions
  • Develop specifications and provide support to designers during drawing development and design reviews
  • Assist with field coordination: site visits for construction verification, vendor and client design reviews, and plant-site coordination as needed
  • Apply engineering judgment to verify automated or scripted outputs and ensure design integrity

Who You Are / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s of Science in Structural or Civil Engineering (strong academic background in materials behavior, structural analysis, steel & concrete design)
  • Completion of coursework in steel and reinforced concrete design
  • Knowledge of structural design principles, loads analysis, and production of technical plans and drawings
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications

Preferred / Valued (but not required)

  • Degree from an ABET-accredited program
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam; Engineer-in-Training (EIT) designation
  • Experience preparing structural calculation packages and support documentation
  • Familiarity with design codes and standards such as IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, N690, ACI 318, ACI 349
  • Experience or exposure to structural analysis software (MathCad, STAAD PRO, SAP2000, SAFE, GT STRUDL, ANSYS)

Skills & Modern Tools

The role emphasizes modern, data-driven workflows and practical use of automation/AI with engineering judgment.

  • Structural analysis and design tools (STAAD PRO, SAP2000, SAFE, GT STRUDL, ANSYS, MathCad)
  • Programming or scripting for automation (Python, MATLAB, advanced Excel) — valued but not required
  • Ability to use automation and AI responsibly to improve workflows, reduce rework, and produce cost-effective designs

Location & Schedule

  • Work location: North Palm Beach, FL (hybrid) — in-office approximately 3 days per week

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $62,998 - $90,586 per year (range disclosed to comply with local and state regulations)
