What You’ll Do
This Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Structural Engineer to join their Nuclear engineering team. In this role you will apply and expand your academic knowledge in materials, structural analysis, steel design, and reinforced concrete design while working with multi-discipline engineering teams on new nuclear facilities, plant betterment, modifications, and related projects.
- Perform structural analysis and design for steel frames, connections, concrete members, equipment/piping supports, and foundations using industry-standard tools.
- Prepare structural design calculations and develop technical specifications and support documentation.
- Support drawing development and coordinate with designers to ensure constructible designs.
- Analyze loading conditions including wind and seismic loads and apply appropriate design codes.
- Participate in design reviews, vendor interactions, and occasional site visits for construction coordination and field verification.
- Receive mentorship and training from experienced structural engineers; contribute to meaningful project assignments.
- Use and develop automation or scripts (when applicable) to improve design workflows and documentation accuracy.
Qualifications
Essential qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
- Coursework or demonstrated knowledge in steel and concrete design, structural analysis, and behavior of materials.
- Understanding of loads analysis, design integrity, and practical application of structural engineering principles.
- Proficiency with MS Office; strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively on engineering teams and follow engineering QA/QC practices.

Preferred / Valued Skills
- Degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam completion and Engineer-in-Training (EIT) designation.
- Experience or familiarity with structural analysis software such as MathCAD, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, SAFE, GT STRUDL, or ANSYS.
- Familiarity with design codes: IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, N690, ACI 318, ACI 349.
- Programming or scripting skills (Python, MATLAB, advanced Excel) to automate calculations, checks, or reporting.
- Any coursework or training in Computer Science, AI, or automation that supports engineering automation is valued.
Work Location & Schedule
This role is based in North Palm Beach, FL and follows a hybrid schedule requiring in-office presence approximately 3 days per week. Travel to client, vendor, or site locations may be required occasionally.
Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation range (provided by Confidential Client): $62,998 - $90,586 per year.
