Role overview

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Structural Engineer 1 to join their Lakewood, CO office. This hands-on, full-time position supports design and construction for heavy industrial and manufacturing facilities. The role reports to the Civil/Structural Director and may require travel up to 20%.


What You’ll Do

  • Execute structural calculations for equipment foundations, towers, pipe racks, platforms, and building structures
  • Coordinate design work with other engineering disciplines and designers
  • Perform site layout and review vendor drawings
  • Prepare structural analysis reports and engineering specifications (e.g., pre-engineered metal buildings, geotechnical scopes)
  • Coordinate with Structural AutoCAD designers to produce 3D facility models and construction drawings
  • Review drawings and models for accuracy and prepare contractor scopes of work and bid packages
  • Create bills of material (BOMs), review shop drawings, and respond to RFIs during construction
  • Provide construction support and assist with other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required
  • Entry-level — no prior experience required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to self-direct tasks and timelines
  • Basic leadership experience (leading work groups or project task forces) is a plus
  • Proficient with engineering software and technology needed for daily tasks
  • Valid, active driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record

Work schedule & location

  • Employment type: Full-time, Exempt
  • Typical hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40-hour work week; evenings/weekends as needed)
  • Travel: Up to 20%
  • Location: Lakewood, CO

Compensation

  • Salary range: $78,000 – $93,600 per year

(This range is provided to comply with pay-transparency requirements.)
