What You’ll Do
- Apply fundamentals of materials behavior, structural analysis, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design to real transmission/substation projects.
- Perform structural analysis and detailed design for steel structures, connections, concrete members, platforms, and foundations.
- Produce integrated structural designs and clear supporting calculations for planned work.
- Prepare technical specifications for structural materials and review deliverables (calculations, drawings) by others.
- Interface with clients and vendors to communicate technical findings and participate in design reviews.
- Conduct field visits to substations for construction coordination and design validation.
- Learn and grow through peer-sharing, internal Communities of Practice, and mentorship.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering (ABET-accredited degree preferred).
- Strong academic and practical background in structural analysis, steel design, reinforced concrete design, and behavior of materials.
- Experience preparing structural calculations, technical specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Familiarity with codes and standards such as IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI 318.
- Proficiency with one or more of: MathCad, STAAD.Pro, RISA 3D, RISA Floor.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present technical material at the appropriate level for clients.
- Ability to complete assignments on schedule and within budget with a high degree of accuracy.
- Willingness to perform occasional site walk-downs and travel to client/vendor locations.
- Valued (not required): EIT certification; programming/scripting (Python, MATLAB, advanced Excel) or coursework in CS/AI to enable automation and modern workflows.
Work Arrangement & Other Requirements
- Hybrid arrangement: typically three days per week in the office and two days remote.
- Travel as needed for design reviews and site coordination.
- Dependent on location, a relocation package may be offered.

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $62,998 - $90,586 per year (listed range). Total compensation may include bonus eligibility and a comprehensive benefits package.
