What You’ll Do
This entry-level Structural Engineer role (target start: Summer 2027) supports structural design and analysis for nuclear projects, plant betterment, and related modifications. You'll join a multidisciplinary engineering team and apply academic training to real-world engineering assignments.
- Prepare structural design calculations, specifications, and support documentation
- Develop and review technical drawings and models with design teams
- Perform structural analysis and design for steel frames, connections, concrete members, equipment and piping supports, and foundations using engineering software
- Evaluate loads and load combinations, including wind and seismic effects, to ensure design integrity
- Support construction coordination, field verification, and vendor/client design reviews when required
- Receive mentorship and training from experienced structural engineers and participate in project engineering assignments
- Use and contribute to automation and modern tools (scripting, calculation automation, AI-assisted workflows) to improve accuracy and efficiency
What We’re Looking For
Confidential Client seeks candidates who can apply structural engineering fundamentals and who are eager to learn on the job.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural/Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering
- Completion of coursework in steel and concrete design
- Strong academic background in material behavior, structural analysis, and reinforced concrete design
- Knowledge of structural design techniques and practical application to produce technical plans and models
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Valued (but not required) Skills & Experience
- Degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program
- Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or designation as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT)
- Experience documenting structural engineering calculations and support reports
- Familiarity with structural analysis software such as MathCad, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, SAFE, GT STRUDL, or ANSYS
- Familiarity with design codes and standards (IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, N690, ACI 318, ACI 349)
- Programming or scripting ability (Python, MATLAB, advanced Excel) to automate calculations or workflows
- Coursework or training in Computer Science, AI, or software engineering that supports automation efforts
Tools & Technologies
- Structural analysis & design software: STAAD Pro, SAP2000, SAFE, GT STRUDL, ANSYS (familiarity preferred)
- Engineering computation: MathCad, MATLAB, Python or advanced Excel
- Office productivity: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Design standards: IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI standards
