What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to lead design and development of Windows-based desktop software for endoscopy and Connected OR products. You will take technical ownership across architecture, implementation, verification, and release for complex, hardware-integrated systems.

  • Design, develop, and maintain Windows desktop applications using C#, .NET, and Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) with a focus on scalable architectures and strong user experience.
  • Lead cross-functional engineering efforts and collaborate with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Product, and Project Management teams.
  • Drive full product lifecycle activities from concept and design through verification, validation, and product launch.
  • Design, develop, and verify software components that meet system requirements and coding standards for regulated medical device environments.
  • Translate clinical, market, and user inputs into clear software requirements, component designs, and testable specifications.
  • Build and execute advanced prototypes and tests to evaluate tradeoffs, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure performance against defined requirements.
  • Integrate software with hardware components, devices, and embedded systems; develop or support Windows Services and inter-process/device communication.
  • Participate in and lead code reviews, apply software design best practices, and estimate development effort and timelines.
  • Produce and maintain engineering artifacts including requirements, architectural designs, test artifacts, bug reports, and Design History File documentation.
  • Mentor peers on engineering practices, design control, risk management, and quality system requirements.

What You Need

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and developing Windows desktop applications with Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF).
  • Strong hands-on experience with C# and .NET.
  • Experience developing Windows Services and integrating software with hardware components, devices, or embedded/firmware systems.
  • Experience designing, developing, or integrating at least one of: REST, SOAP, WCF, or gRPC APIs.

Preferred:

  • Experience with MVVM architecture, XAML, object‑oriented design principles, and common design patterns; familiarity with C++ is a plus.
  • Experience with video/audio/visualization systems, signal routing, FPGA-related environments, or connected hardware ecosystems.
  • Knowledge of Ethernet/IP networking protocols (TCP/UDP, Multicast, QoS, VLANs, NDI, SDVoE) or relevant networking certifications (e.g., CCNA).
  • Experience working in regulated medical device development with design controls (e.g., IEC 62304, IEC 60601, FDA 21 CFR Part 820).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $133,400 - $222,300 USD annually.

Workplace & Location
