Overview

Confidential Client is hiring a Staff Software Engineer — Post‑Silicon Infrastructure to join their characterization and validation engineering efforts in Chandler, AZ. This hands-on engineering role builds scalable software tooling and automation that connects hardware, firmware, workloads, instrumentation, and data collection to enable repeatable post-silicon validation and characterization.


What You’ll Do

  • Develop reusable software infrastructure and frameworks for post-silicon validation and characterization.
  • Build Python automation to orchestrate workloads, platform controls, lab instrumentation, telemetry, and data collection.
  • Design and implement scalable test orchestration for reliable, unattended test execution (CI/regression).
  • Collaborate with firmware, validation, systems, and infrastructure teams to integrate and debug automated test methodologies.
  • Instrument systems with logging, telemetry and diagnostic tooling to speed root-cause analysis and improve reliability.
  • Turn complex engineering workflows into reliable infrastructure that scales across platforms and users.

Required (Minimum) Qualifications

  • Strong Python development skills with experience building automation, orchestration, or reusable frameworks.
  • Experience with Linux systems, APIs, and software architecture for hardware-connected environments.
  • Experience building CI, regression, or automated test infrastructure designed for unattended execution.
  • Proven debugging skills for complex software ↔ hardware interactions using logging, telemetry and diagnostics.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across firmware, validation, systems and infrastructure teams to deliver reusable solutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Qualifications

  • Experience with C/C++ and embedded systems or firmware interfaces.
  • Background in hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), lab instrumentation automation, telemetry, or equipment control.
  • Experience developing APIs for hardware control, workload execution, data collection and failure recovery.
  • Familiarity with YAML-driven automation platforms or config-driven orchestration.
  • Understanding of silicon validation, characterization, power/performance analysis, or system-level testing.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range (Confidential Client): $198,100 - $268,000 per year.
  • Confidential Client offers a total rewards package including benefits and equity details that will be shared during recruitment.
