What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring a full-time Staff Nurse to coordinate and deliver clinical patient care in a busy outpatient practice. Under direct supervision, you will organize clinical workflows, provide in-office patient services, support patient education and follow-up, and help maintain clinical supplies and documentation.
- Monitor and rotate medical supply expiration dates; receive and verify deliveries.
- Triage patient inquiries and communicate test results to patients and providers.
- Provide direct patient care: obtain histories, take vital signs, perform venipuncture and specimen collection, administer vaccines/medications, and document care.
- Evaluate and stabilize patients in urgent situations and administer appropriate medications or treatments.
- Schedule tests and procedures and coordinate referrals as needed.
- Develop, update and implement individualized care plans and discharge instructions.
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans and follow-up care.
- Maintain accurate records of diagnoses, progress notes and physicians’ orders; call in prescriptions to pharmacies.
- Participate in unit-based in-service and continuing education to maintain clinical competency.
- Recommend and implement procedural improvements to support quality patient care and efficient clinic operations.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Experience: Less than one year of professional RN experience may be considered; up to two years of post-degree coursework or internship experience accepted.
- Skills:
- Strong clinical assessment and patient education skills.
- Comfortable performing venipuncture and basic lab specimen collection.
- Professional demeanor and strong verbal/written communication.
- Ability to work independently and within an interdisciplinary team.
- Availability: Full-time (35 hours/week) — schedule includes regular weekly hours.
Licenses & Certifications
- Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license & registration.
- BLS (American Heart Association) required.
- Infection Control certificate required or equivalent training.
Compensation
- Salary range: $98,300 – $102,600 per year (as provided for roles hired into NYC offices under NYC Human Rights Law Int 1208-2018).
- Exemption status: Exempt.
- Typical work week: 35 hours.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
- Standard outpatient clinical environment.
- Duties include standing, walking, lifting and frequent patient contact.
- May require repetitive motions (e.g., drawing blood) and occasional exposure to infectious agents; standard PPE and infection-control procedures are followed.
