Responsibilities

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Staff Engineer to support municipal infrastructure projects. Key responsibilities include:

• Assist with planning, design, and preparation of engineering plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates for municipal infrastructure projects.
• Perform engineering calculations for grading, stormwater management, drainage, water distribution, sanitary sewer systems, and roadway design.
• Prepare permit applications and coordinate with local, county, and state regulatory agencies.
• Support project managers with scheduling, budgeting, project delivery, and client communications.
• Conduct field investigations, site visits, and construction observations as required.
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering software to prepare design documents and drawings.
• Assist in preparing technical reports, feasibility studies, and grant applications.
• Coordinate with internal disciplines (environmental, transportation, geotechnical, landscape architecture, water resources).
• Review contractor submittals, respond to RFIs, and support construction administration tasks.
• Participate in client meetings, public presentations, and stakeholder coordination efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• 0–2 years of experience in municipal, civil/site, transportation, or infrastructure engineering.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office Suite, and standard engineering design software.
• Understanding of municipal infrastructure design principles and applicable codes and regulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple assignments.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship (see Additional Information).

Compensation

• Projected salary range: $70,000 to $77,000 per year (actual pay will depend on experience, education, and qualifications).
• Eligible for performance-based annual bonus programs where applicable.
