Role Overview
Confidential Client is seeking a Staff Engineer – Municipal Services to join their Municipal Services team in Wall Township, NJ. This is an entry-level to early-career opportunity (0–2 years) for a civil engineering professional who wants hands-on experience in municipal infrastructure planning, design, permitting, and construction support. This full-time role offers mentorship, multidisciplinary collaboration, and a comprehensive benefits package.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with planning, design, and preparation of engineering plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates for municipal infrastructure projects.
- Perform engineering calculations for grading, stormwater management, drainage, water distribution, sanitary sewer systems, and roadway design.
- Prepare permit applications and coordinate with local, county, and state regulatory agencies.
- Support project managers with project delivery, scheduling, budgeting, and client communications.
- Conduct field investigations, site visits, and construction observation as needed.
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering software to develop design documents.
- Assist in preparing technical reports, feasibility studies, and grant applications.
- Coordinate with internal teams (environmental, transportation, geotechnical, landscape architecture, and water resources).
- Review contractor submittals, respond to RFIs, and support construction administration.
- Participate in client meetings, public presentations, and stakeholder coordination.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- 0–2 years of experience in municipal, civil/site, transportation, or infrastructure engineering.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office Suite, and common engineering design tools.
- Working knowledge of municipal infrastructure design principles, codes, and regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple assignments.

Compensation
The projected compensation range for this position is $70,000 to $77,000 per year. Actual compensation will depend on experience, education, and qualifications. Confidential Client offers performance recognition, including an annual bonus program.
