Overview
Confidential Client is seeking an Entry-Level Civil Aviation Staff Engineer to join their Aviation group in Boise, ID. This role is a strong fit for a recent civil engineering graduate or early-career engineer who wants hands-on experience in airport planning, design, and construction support. The company offers relocation assistance and a signing bonus for qualified candidates. Candidates must have an EIT certification or be able to obtain it within 18 months of hire.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with airport design tasks and prepare engineering drawings
- Support development of construction cost estimates
- Assist Project Engineers and Project Managers with specifications and design documentation
- Research design alternatives and present options to project leads
- Participate in client communications and support project meetings
- May serve as onsite project representative during construction and perform construction inspection and oversight
- Track workload and notify project managers of scope changes or potential additional services
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support project delivery
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- EI/EIT certificate required or ability to obtain within 18 months of hire
- 0–3 years of experience preferred (airport consulting or related engineering experience a plus)
- Knowledge of FAA advisory circulars related to airport design and the FAA grant process
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated and team-oriented with the ability to work on challenging projects
- Willingness to travel, especially during construction season
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Ability to navigate different field locations and site conditions
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to safely operate a vehicle
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated salary: $77,218 per year (estimated)
