Compensation & Schedule

Confidential Client offers:

  • $16.00–$20.00 per hour (approximately $33,280–$41,600 per year for full-time)
  • Full-time, on-site role
  • Reports to the Audit Manager and senior audit team members
  • Travel to client facilities across Puerto Rico is required
  • Professional proficiency in Spanish (required); functional proficiency in English (required)
  • Active pursuit of CPA licensure is strongly encouraged and supported

What Success Looks Like

  • Financial audits and assurance engagements are planned, executed, and documented on time and in full conformance with professional standards.
  • Working papers are clear, complete, and support audit conclusions with no material documentation deficiencies.
  • Substantive and controls testing is executed accurately, with issues identified and communicated promptly to supervising auditors.
  • Time budgets and client delivery deadlines are consistently met across engagements.
  • The Staff Auditor demonstrates steady growth in technical knowledge and progress toward CPA readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support planning, execution, and documentation of financial audits, reviews, and other assurance services under supervision.
  • Prepare complete, well-documented working papers that support audit conclusions and meet firm standards.
  • Execute substantive tests and controls testing as directed, applying sound professional judgment.
  • Evaluate financial and operational information to identify discrepancies, risks, and opportunities; document findings clearly.
  • Obtain, organize, and secure audit evidence to keep files audit-ready throughout engagements.
  • Meet time budgets and delivery deadlines; manage competing priorities across multiple assignments.
  • Contribute to process improvements within the Audit Department to increase efficiency and consistency.
  • Leverage technology and AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT) to improve efficiency, accuracy, and consistency of audit documentation and analysis.
  • Maintain professional, timely communication with clients and team members.
  • Travel to client facilities as required and handle all client information with strict confidentiality.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Recent graduate or up to two years of experience in auditing, public accounting, or a closely related field.
  • Eligible to obtain CPA licensure; active pursuit of the CPA is strongly encouraged.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Experience with or openness to using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for travel to client facilities.
  • Professional oral and written proficiency in Spanish; functional oral and written proficiency in English.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and via virtual meeting platforms.
