Role Summary

Confidential Client is hiring a Staff Accountant based in Schiller Park, IL. This is an entry-level to early-career position on the corporate accounting team providing broad exposure to corporate accounting processes within an industrial real estate environment. The role is in-office with a Monday–Thursday on-site schedule.

What You’ll Do

• Support the monthly close process by preparing routine journal entries, schedules, and account reconciliations
• Prepare bank reconciliations and record cash activity
• Maintain supporting documentation to ensure accounting records are complete and organized
• Support accounting for related‑party receivables, including invoicing, reconciliation, aging review, and follow-up
• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports
• Perform recurring accounting analyses and monthly fee calculations
• Assist with investor capital calls, distributions, and investor reporting
• Respond to requests from external auditors, tax preparers, and internal partners
• Investigate variances, escalate unusual items, and recommend practical next steps
• Identify opportunities to improve recurring processes, documentation, and internal controls
• Partner across departments to provide responsive, service‑oriented accounting support
• Contribute to ad hoc accounting and finance projects as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a closely related field
• 0–2 years of accounting experience (including internships or part‑time roles)
• Foundational understanding of GAAP and core financial statements
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (formulas, sorting, filtering, basic analysis)
• Experience with Yardi Voyager or other accounting / ERP systems is a plus
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow‑through
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative, customer‑service mindset
• Interest in learning about industrial real estate accounting and related processes

Compensation & Schedule

• Base salary: $60,000 - $75,000 annually, plus bonus (good‑faith estimate based on market data and internal equity)
• Location: Schiller Park, IL (in‑office schedule Monday through Thursday)
• Employment type: Full‑time
