Program Overview
This is a paid, 3–4 month Staff Accountant Training Program with a Confidential Client in the Accounting & Finance industry. The program gives recent graduates or near-graduates hands-on experience in property and client accounting within commercial real estate (CRE) portfolios. You will work under guided supervision to build core accounting skills and prepare for advancement into a Client Accountant role.
Start Date & Duration
The program is scheduled to start on September 28, 2026 and runs approximately 3–4 months.
What You’ll Do
You will perform entry-level accounting tasks across client property portfolios, including:
- Execute cash-basis and basic accrual accounting for assigned properties (industrial, land, association, light office).
- Perform account analysis, transaction review, bank reconciliations, cash management, and basic AP/AR tasks.
- Prepare accurate basic financial reporting packages in accordance with client and internal control requirements.
- Support month-end activities by completing and reviewing the Client Accounting month-end checklist.
- Assist with journal entries, reconciliation schedules, data entry, and ad-hoc research or special projects.
- Investigate and communicate basic accounting discrepancies to management; collaborate professionally with property teams and clients.
- Follow documented Client Accounting policies and understand segregation of duties between Property Management and Client Accounting.
Who We’re Looking For (Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related business degree preferred; current college students nearing graduation may be considered.
- Strong interest in building a career in Client Accounting (not tax or audit).
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and comfort learning accounting software.
- Basic understanding of accounting functions (general ledger, reconciliations, AP/AR).
- High attention to detail and ability to manage a medium-volume workload and tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
- Prior customer service, sales, or administrative experience is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation: $22.53 - $26.50 (as provided by the client).
