What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Staff Accountant to join their dealership accounting team in Suitland, MD. This is a hands-on role intended for a recent accounting graduate or early-career accountant who wants to learn dealership-specific accounting practices and grow into more senior finance roles.

• Support daily accounting operations across multiple departments
• Process accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)
• Prepare bank deposits and perform bank reconciliations
• Assist with month-end schedules and financial statement preparation
• Review deal jackets and transaction files for accuracy and compliance
• Help maintain records for inventory, flooring, and manufacturer statements
• Work closely with the Controller and Office Manager; participate in training and mentorship

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (recent graduates encouraged to apply)
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP)
• Proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, basic formulas)
• Familiarity with dealership DMS systems is a plus (CDK, Reynolds, Dealertrack, or similar)
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, retail-facing environment
• Authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Skills & Tools

• Strong Excel skills for reconciliations and reporting
• Experience or interest in dealership accounting and auto retail processes
• Basic exposure to AP/AR workflows, bank reconciliations, and month-end close
• Ability to learn dealer management systems (DMS) quickly

• Estimated pay: $86,690 per year (estimated)
