What You’ll Do

Consistently provide students with high-quality instructional experiences that promote intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth. You will deliver TEKS-aligned instruction in the assigned core subject area, adapt lessons for diverse learners, and support students to be college and career ready.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned to district curriculum and TEKS, showing written evidence of preparation.
• Differentiate instruction and design accommodations for students with diverse learning needs.
• Collaborate with special education staff to adapt curricula and support Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
• Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction.
• Maintain an engaging, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that supports student development.
• Supervise instructional aides and volunteers as assigned.
• Integrate technology to enhance learning and student engagement.
• Communicate regularly and professionally with students, families, colleagues and school leaders.

Virtual & Online Teaching (as assigned)

When required to teach remotely, you will:

• Plan and deliver distance-learning lessons that reflect student needs and TEKS standards.
• Be available during regular school hours for phone, email, or video support.
• Communicate with students and parents at least once per week and respond to correspondence within one business day.
• Create a virtual classroom environment that supports learning and social-emotional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with the appropriate endorsements/training for the assigned subject and level.
• Demonstrated competency in the assigned academic subject area.
• Knowledge of curriculum and instruction, including TEKS expectations.
• Strong classroom management, organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Minimum experience: student teaching or approved internship.
• Ability to meet attendance and on-site responsibilities.

Physical, Mental & Environmental Requirements

• Prolonged standing and sitting; frequent walking, kneeling, bending and reaching.
• Repetitive computer use, frequent use of hands and wrists.
• Regular lifting/carrying (generally under 15 lbs); may move textbooks and classroom equipment.
• Work occurs inside and outside; occasional exposure to noise.
• Maintain emotional control under stress; may work extended or irregular hours.
