Role Overview

Our confidential client in Financial Services is hiring a Sr. Data Analyst to design, build, and maintain data solutions that drive business insight. You will blend analytic thinking, scripting, and data-engineering-minded best practices to enable self-service analytics, support data governance, and deliver dashboards and models that inform strategy across the business.


What You’ll Do

  • Use Python, R, Spark and SQL to explore, transform, and analyze large, multi-format datasets.
  • Build well-managed data solutions and tooling that enable repeatable, self-service analytics.
  • Design and deliver dashboards, metrics and visualizations to translate business needs into clear insights.
  • Apply data quality principles (metadata, lineage, business definitions) and implement monitoring for data reliability.
  • Collaborate with engineering and security teams to implement data access governance and secure data practices.
  • Rapidly evaluate and incorporate new open-source and cloud tools to accelerate initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or in-progress) in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related) plus at least 2 years of data analytics experience — OR a Master’s degree (or in-progress) with expectation to complete prior to start.
  • At least 1 year of experience with one scripting language (Python, R, Spark or SQL).
  • At least 1 year using a business intelligence / visualization tool (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • At least 1 year querying and analyzing data (data warehouses/SQL, unstructured data, or equivalent platforms).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a STEM discipline.
  • 2+ years coding in Python, R, Spark, or SQL.
  • Experience with Snowflake services and developing inside cloud data platforms.
  • Familiarity with AWS services for analytics.
  • Experience with data governance and data quality tools (e.g., Informatica DQ) and process improvement methodologies (Agile, Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights and build self-service tooling.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range for Chicago, IL: $101,100 - $115,400 (annual) for this role.
  • This role may also be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation (cash bonus and/or long-term incentives) per the client’s programs.
