Role overview

Confidential Client is seeking a Specialist II, Support to join their IT team. This is a full-time, permanent role based in Albertville, AL with remote/telecommute eligibility. The Specialist II provides first- and second-line technical support, incident triage and routing, basic system administration, and hands-on assistance for hardware, software, and network issues.


What You’ll Do

  • Provide real-time troubleshooting for end users: software functionality, browser/OS issues, PC configuration, hardware and software installation.
  • Manage global incident routing — validate, triage, assign, and escalate production‑critical incidents.
  • Perform domain maintenance and basic system administration tasks in Windows environments.
  • Assist with Web filtering, internet and firewall issues; support entry-level application maintenance.
  • Configure network and server hardware; support device procurement setup and configuration.
  • Produce usage trends, statistical reports, and Sarbanes‑Oxley reporting as required.
  • Accurately record support requests and resolutions in the ticketing/tracking system.
  • Provide remote and occasional on-site support, facilitate warranty claims and hardware exchanges.
  • Participate in problem resolution, testing, workarounds, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Provide extra phone coverage and support during business needs; minimal domestic travel as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP) and Windows networking experience.
  • Basic system administration experience (Windows preferred).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft products; exposure to Linux, IBM, LN, or SAP is a plus.
  • Strong verbal communication and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to accurately document issues and follow escalation procedures.

Preferred qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field.
  • 2+ years of IT / technical support experience.
  • Experience with ITIL principles (incident, problem, change management).
  • Prior technical support or call center experience.
  • CompTIA A+ and/or CompTIA Network+ certifications.
  • Microsoft certifications or equivalent vendor certifications.

Physical & work environment

  • Primarily office-based work with remote support capability. Occasional standing, walking, bending or lifting may be required for hardware tasks.
  • Regular verbal communications (talking and hearing) and standard repetitive motions associated with computer work.
  • Must follow all site safety guidelines and procedures.
