Role Overview

Confidential Client is hiring a Special Education Teacher (ECSE) to join an early childhood special education (ECSE) unit. The role focuses on delivering individualized instruction, developing and implementing IEPs through the ARD process, adapting curriculum for learners with special needs, and collaborating with families and campus staff. This is a full-time contract position based in Universal City, TX. Pay: $50 per hour.

What You’ll Do

• Collaborate with students, parents, and staff to develop and implement IEPs via the ARD Committee process.
• Deliver instructional, therapeutic, and skill-development programs aligned with each student’s IEP.
• Assess student learning styles and use appropriate instructional strategies, materials and technology.
• Modify grade-level curriculum and support special education students in inclusive settings.
• Participate regularly in ARD/IEP meetings and coordinate with related service providers.
• Supervise and direct instructional aides and volunteers as assigned.
• Maintain required documentation, records, and progress reports.
• Follow district safety protocols, including intervention and restraint procedures when necessary and as permitted by policy and IEP.
• Participate in staff development and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local special education regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements for assignment.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License.
• Successful completion of fingerprint/background check (candidate fee applies; approximately $50).
• Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience.
• Strong communication skills and knowledge of ARD/IEP processes and special education instructional strategies.

Preferred / Helpful Skills

• Experience with Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) settings.
• Ability to plan and document individualized instruction and measurable IEP goals.
• Experience using assistive technology or adaptive instructional materials.
• Skill managing classroom behavior and implementing positive behavior supports.

Compensation & Schedule

• Pay rate: $50 per hour.
• Employment type: Full-time, Contract.
• Work days: 187 days (academic/calendar year as assigned).
• Typical duties include in-class instruction, planning, parent conferences, ARD meetings, and staff meetings.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

• Frequent: sitting, standing, walking, stair/climb, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, repetitive hand motions, speaking, hearing, visual acuity.
• Occasional: lifting/carrying 15–44 pounds.
• Possible exposure to temperature extremes, noise, biological hazards (e.g., communicable disease), outdoor work, and intermittent irregular hours.
• Maintain emotional control under stress and work with frequent interruptions.

Location

Universal City, TX — on-site, campus-based assignment. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and able to meet Texas certification and fingerprinting requirements.
