Soils Laboratory Technician
The Soils Laboratory Technician at Confidential Client performs various soil and concrete laboratory tests, including compaction, moisture/density, gradation, triaxial, and concrete compression testing. What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking a Soils Laboratory Technician to perform routine and advanced soil and concrete materials testing in a busy materials testing laboratory. You will produce accurate test data, maintain lab equipment, and communicate results clearly to field and project teams.
- Performs soil and concrete laboratory tests (compaction curves, moisture/density, gradation, triaxial, and concrete compression testing)
- Prepare and maintain laboratory documentation and test reports
- Communicate test results to office staff, field personnel, and clients
- Assist with supply, maintenance, storage, and proper disposal of materials and equipment
- Pick up soil and concrete samples from project sites as needed
- Support field staff and help maintain field testing equipment
Candidate Profile
You are dependable, detail-oriented, safety-minded, and willing to learn and grow in a materials testing environment.
- Proactive problem solver with strong attention to detail
- Able to communicate clearly (verbal and written) with internal teams and external clients
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented lab and able to work independently when required
- Familiarity with the construction industry and site procedures
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Able to perform accurate computations and follow written procedures
- Willing to acquire and maintain laboratory certifications and follow QA/QC procedures
Preferred Qualifications
- Some college or bachelor’s degree in Soil Science, Geology, Civil Engineering, or a related field
- 1–2 years of experience in a materials testing laboratory (entry-level candidates with relevant coursework considered)
- ACI or other laboratory certifications are a plus
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
Physical & Other Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform intermittent strenuous activity
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely
- Must pass drug screening per client policy

- Estimated hourly range: $22–$26 per hour (paid hourly)
