Overview

Confidential Client is seeking a Software Validation Engineer to support OTA (over‑the‑air) and subsystem validation for embedded and connected‑vehicle systems. This contract role is based onsite in Dearborn, MI and focuses on Python-based automation, test execution, and detailed validation evidence to support engineering teams and product releases.


What You’ll Do

  • Execute automated and manual validation activities for OTA and subsystem test cases
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance Python-based automation scripts and test frameworks
  • Prepare and verify test environment readiness; reproduce and document defects
  • Collect and analyze logs, generate test evidence, and produce clear findings
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, test plans, and test reports
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to expand automation coverage and improve test efficiency
  • Participate in Agile team ceremonies and support continuous integration (CI) test pipelines

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline
  • 2–5 years of experience in software testing, automation, validation, or quality engineering
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to documentation discipline
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills; able to produce test evidence and reports
  • Comfortable working onsite in Dearborn, MI (fully onsite requirement)
  • Employment type: Contract

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • Experience in automotive, connected-vehicle, embedded systems, ECU, or OTA validation
  • Familiarity with test automation frameworks and mobile/GUI automation (Selenium/Appium)
  • Hands-on with Git/GitHub, Jenkins (CI), Jira, and TestRail
  • Comfortable using VS Code or PyCharm for development and debugging
  • Prior exposure to telecommunications, aerospace, or medical device validation environments is a plus

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay range: $30.00 - $33.00 per hour
  • Actual compensation within this range will depend on qualifications, relevant experience, job knowledge, and other job‑related factors
