What You’ll Do
This role supports Facilities Engineering to develop and execute projects focused on robotics, automation, and advanced manufacturing technology equipment for a confidential client in the engineering sector. You will work on cross-functional teams to deliver manufacturing facility upgrades and automation solutions from concept through implementation.
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams across all project phases for manufacturing and facility projects
- Provide engineering oversight for electrical, mechanical, electromechanical controls, and structural disciplines
- Perform field engineering, technical assessments, and manage contractors during construction
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes and automation technology
- Control project costs, schedules, and deliverables
- Build operator interfaces (GUIs/HMIs) and integrate control systems with production equipment
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (ABET-accredited) in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, or Mechatronics — OR High School Diploma + 4 years relevant experience
- Experience developing custom GUIs, HMIs, or operator interfaces
- Ability to read and analyze electrical, mechanical, and structural drawings and engineering requirements
- Strong project management, scheduling, and organizational skills
- Effective leadership and communication skills; able to work independently and in cross-functional teams
- Proficient with Windows and MS Office Suite
- Demonstrated ability to address technical, quality, and business aspects of projects and meet schedule/budget targets
- Self-directed learner with ability to research and prototype solutions
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Preferred / Bonus Qualifications
- Experience automating or improving processes using robotic or industrial automation systems
- Software development experience (preferred: C# / .NET); familiarity with OOP, SOLID principles, and test-driven development
- Familiarity with manufacturing materials and processes
- Prior experience in industrial environments and strong safety mindset
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
Physical Requirements
May require work in office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory settings. Must be able to climb ladders, tolerate confined spaces and temperature variances, and be available to work on-site in the yard as required.
Compensation & Benefits
- Anticipated salary range (posted by the client): $75,257.00 - $86,008.00 per year.
