This role involves designing, developing, and deploying advanced cybersecurity software capabilities within Agile Scrum teams for a U.S. Government mission-critical network operations program. The Software Engineer will contribute to automated builds, testing, deployments, and produce high-quality technical documentation while supporting risk assessments and mitigation efforts. A Secret Security Clearance is required due to the sensitive nature of the work.

What You’ll Do
Careertakes is hiring on behalf of a Confidential Client seeking Software Engineers with cloud development expertise to support a mission‑critical cybersecurity program for a U.S. Government customer. You will be part of cross-functional Agile Scrum teams designing, developing, and deploying cybersecurity capabilities in a network operations environment.
- Collaborate on Agile Scrum teams to design, implement, test, and deliver advanced cybersecurity software capabilities
- Develop and maintain automated build, test, and deployment pipelines (CI/CD)
- Produce high-quality technical documentation: user guides, test plans, contract deliverables, and training materials
- Support risk assessments and design risk mitigation countermeasures
- Contribute to secure, maintainable, and well-tested cloud-native solutions
What We’re Looking For (Minimum Qualifications)
To be considered, candidates should meet the following minimum requirements:
- Current USG Secret Security Clearance (minimum) — clearance is required for this position
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Demonstrated cloud development experience supporting design, deployment, or sustainment of software
- Familiarity with automated builds, automated testing, and deployment workflows (CI/CD)
- Experience working in Agile Scrum teams and delivering software on schedule
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including producing technical documentation
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
Preferred experience that will help you succeed in this role:
- Prior work supporting U.S. Government or defense/missions-critical programs
- Hands-on experience delivering cybersecurity capabilities in cloud or network operations environments
- Familiarity with risk assessment processes and technical mitigation strategies
