Overview
This is an entry-level Software Engineering Associate position within a Tax Innovation Delivery Experience (TIDE) team supporting tax technology and consulting projects. You will work on software solutions that support tax workflows, compliance, and client delivery—using C#.NET, JavaScript, REST clients, and React Native for mobile where applicable. This role is based in Chicago, IL and is ideal for candidates finishing or recently completed a bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement software solutions using C#.NET and JavaScript to meet client and internal requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and refine software architecture and object-oriented designs
- Participate in code reviews and follow coding standards to improve quality and maintainability
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects to enhance system performance and reliability
- Use REST APIs and related tooling to integrate systems and services
- Build responsive UI components and mobile features using React Native as required
- Analyze functional requirements and translate them into technical tasks and deliverables
- Support client engagements by providing technical insight in the tax consulting domain
- Apply intellectual curiosity to learn new technologies and improve existing processes
- Accept feedback and engage in continuous learning to grow technical and consulting capabilities
What You Must Have
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Availability to begin in the Summer/Fall 2027 hiring cycle (entry-level/client service associate expectations)
- Authorization to work in the U.S. (this role does not offer visa sponsorship)
What Sets You Apart (Preferred Qualifications)
- GPA of 3.5 or higher
- Practical experience or coursework in C#.NET and JavaScript
- Familiarity with React Native for mobile development
- Experience using REST clients and building API integrations
- Strong debugging, code-review, and object-oriented design skills
- Interest in applying AI tools to create efficiencies and innovative solutions
- Effective communication and team collaboration skills, with an eagerness to support client-facing work
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $53,500 - $142,000 (actual compensation will depend on skills, experience, qualifications, and location, and in accordance with applicable law)
- Eligible for annual discretionary bonus where applicable
- Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, and other typical employer-provided benefits (details depend on the client’s benefits program)
