Position overview

Confidential Client is seeking entry-level Software Engineering Analysts to join a Government & Public Services IT practice in Rosslyn, VA. This role is focused on designing, building, and maintaining scalable, secure applications that support public-sector clients. The position is full-time, permanent, and intended for candidates starting or building a career in software engineering and consulting.


What You’ll Do

As a Software Engineering Analyst, you will:

  • Apply software engineering fundamentals to design, develop, test, and maintain applications.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (product, UX, data, operations) to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Contribute to code reviews, automation, and CI/CD practices to improve reliability and delivery speed.
  • Integrate cloud-native and other emerging technologies to meet client requirements.
  • Help ensure performance, security, and user-focused design in delivered solutions.
  • Participate in problem-solving for complex business challenges and support transformation initiatives for public-sector clients.

Key responsibilities

  • Produce clean, well-tested code and documentation.
  • Participate in peer reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Automate build, test, and deployment processes where applicable.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement fixes in a timely manner.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to team members and stakeholders.
  • Support multiple tasks and deadlines across project workstreams.

Required qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university and expected to graduate by Fall 2026, or hold a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related program.
  • 3.0 cumulative GPA minimum.
  • Ability to reside within a commutable distance of the assigned Rosslyn, VA office (example: ~100-mile radius) and commute daily if required.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% on average, depending on client needs.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
  • At least 18 years of age at time of employment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on teams.

Preferred qualifications

  • 3.4 cumulative GPA preferred.
  • Internship, coursework, or project experience in software development, cloud, or related engineering work.
  • Familiarity with modern programming languages, cloud platforms, and development tooling.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and initiative.

You will work within a Government & Public Services practice that serves government agencies, higher education, nonprofit, and other public-sector organizations. Teams operate across strategy, operations, technology, and transformation engagements, offering opportunities to build specialized expertise while learning from experienced practitioners.


Compensation & logistics

  • Employment type: Full-time, Permanent.
  • Estimated salary range: $95,000 to $98,000 per year. This range is provided by Confidential Client and reflects a variety of factors (experience, skills, location differential); final pay offers depend on individual qualifications and business needs.
  • Recruiting for this role runs through 2026-09-23 (candidates should verify current posting status).
  • This role may require regular travel and on-site presence; some assignments may vary based on client and project.
