What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring a Software Engineer to join mission-critical programs in Huntsville, AL. You will design, implement, test, and maintain software solutions that solve complex, real-time, and embedded problems across the full software lifecycle.

• Plan, conduct, and coordinate software development activities
• Design, code, test, debug, and document software (primarily in C/C++)
• Implement software architecture and contribute to system design reviews
• Integrate software components and support system integration & test activities
• Translate software requirements into design and testable deliverables
• Collaborate with multi-disciplined teams (systems engineers, test, hardware, and program management)
• Ensure software follows applicable standards, processes, and secure development practices
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct software issues in test and operational environments

Minimum Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Final Secret government security clearance prior to start
• Experience programming in C and/or C++
• Experience with full software lifecycle: requirements → design → implementation → integration & test
• Ability to work effectively on multi-disciplined teams
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Preferred / Desired Skills

• Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) experience
• Knowledge of Agile software development practices
• Experience writing and designing to formal software requirements
• Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Prior experience supporting government programs or work at facility-secure sites

• Work location: Huntsville, AL
• This position is located at a facility that requires special access and on-site presence as directed by program needs.
• Candidates must be available to work onsite and comply with site access and security policies.
