Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Software Engineer (Full‑Time, W2) to join a consulting team focused on building scalable backend and API-driven applications. This role is ideal for recent graduates or engineers with 1–4 years of professional experience who want rapid growth through hands-on client projects and paid training.
What You’ll Do
You will contribute to full lifecycle software development in a consulting environment:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain reliable, scalable software applications
- Write clean, efficient, reusable, maintainable code following best practices
- Collaborate with engineers, QA, business analysts, and cross-functional teams
- Build and integrate RESTful APIs and backend services
- Debug and resolve defects and performance issues
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to development standards
- Work with relational databases and write SQL to support application features
- Use Git (or similar VCS) for source control and CI/CD workflows
- Assist with deploying and maintaining applications across environments
- Follow Agile/Scrum practices and attend sprint ceremonies
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical field
- 1–4 years of professional software development or related technical experience
- Strong programming skills in one or more: Java, Python, JavaScript, C#, C++, Kotlin, or similar
- Solid understanding of OOP, data structures, algorithms, and software fundamentals
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON, and client‑server architecture
- Knowledge of SQL and relational databases
- Experience with Git or other version control systems
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to client environments
- Willingness to relocate to Atlanta, GA for the paid training program and to travel or relocate for client engagements across the United States
Compensation (as listed by the client): $35.00–$40.00 per hour (W2).
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship, academic, or personal software projects
- Familiarity with frameworks such as Spring Boot, .NET, React, Angular, Django, or Flask
- Basic cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) or DevOps exposure
- Knowledge of CI/CD and automated testing
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments
- Experience with APIs, microservices, or distributed systems
- Prior consulting or client-facing project experience (a plus)
