What You’ll Do

You will join the Wallet engineering team at our confidential client building secure, scalable backend systems that power custody and trading of digital assets. In this role you will design, build, and operate backend services and platform components that meet strict security and performance standards.

• Design, implement, test, and deploy scalable backend services that power the Wallet product.
• Build product-facing features and platform enhancements with attention to correctness, reliability, and latency.
• Own system design and data models for high-throughput, low-latency flows.
• Investigate production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and ship durable fixes.
• Drive improvements in system performance, engineering productivity, and risk reduction.
• Partner closely with product managers, designers, other engineering teams, and external vendors to deliver end-to-end solutions.

What You’ll Bring

• 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong backend development experience in Go, Python, or Java.
• Practical knowledge of cloud-native architectures, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of system design, data modeling, and software engineering fundamentals.
• Ability to simplify complex problems, make pragmatic tradeoffs, and align cross-functional teams.
• Strong sense of ownership and track record delivering end-to-end products.

Nice-to-Haves / Bonus Points

• Prior experience at a DeFi protocol, crypto wallet company, or other blockchain-related product team.
• Familiarity with EVM-compatible blockchains, smart contracts, or on-chain tooling.
• Experience with performance-sensitive systems and real-time data pipelines.

Work Location & Schedule

This role is expected to be based in one of the client’s U.S. offices (example locations include New York, NY or Menlo Park, CA). In-person attendance is expected at least 3 days per week. Local labor and employment laws for the state where you work will apply.

Compensation & Benefits

Base pay ranges vary by compensation zone and location. In addition to base pay, the role may be eligible for bonus pay, equity, and benefits. The client provides standard benefits such as health insurance, retirement match, paid time off, parental leave, and other employee support programs. Reasonable accommodations are available upon request.

Example base pay ranges by zone (USD):

• Zone 1 (Menlo Park, CA; New York, NY; Bellevue, WA; Washington, DC): $166,000—$195,000 per year
• Zone 2 (Denver, CO; Westlake, TX; Chicago, IL): $147,000—$172,000 per year
• Zone 3 (Lake Mary, FL; Clearwater, FL; Gainesville, FL): $130,000—$152,000 per year

Note: If you are applying from a location with pay-transparency laws (for example CA, CO, NY, WA, IL), the applicable salary range for that work location is included above. Exact compensation will depend on job-related factors such as experience, skills, and location.
