What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking an early-career Software Engineer to design, develop, and deliver full‑stack applications and data-driven capabilities that support sponsor missions. You will work across the software development lifecycle—building web applications, integrating cloud services and data pipelines, and applying modern AI/ML tools—alongside a collaborative, multi‑disciplinary team.

• Develop and maintain full‑stack web applications using modern frameworks (React, Angular, Node.js, Spring Boot, Flask).
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs, microservices, and data services across cloud and on‑premise environments.
• Write clean, well‑tested code in Python, Java, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Containerize and deploy applications using Docker and support CI/CD workflows on cloud platforms such as AWS.
• Design and work with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB) to support application and data needs.
• Apply AI/ML tools and large language models to accelerate development and improve software quality.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and stakeholders in an Agile environment to deliver sponsor‑focused solutions.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
• 0–2 years of hands‑on software development experience (including internships, co‑ops, or full‑time roles).
• Practical understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Experience with at least one modern programming language: Python, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience building web applications with modern frameworks (React, Angular, Node.js, Spring Boot, or Flask).
• Foundational knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and familiarity with containerization (Docker).
• Experience with databases (MySQL, MongoDB) and version control using Git.
• Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills, and a demonstrated ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly.
• Ability to work on‑site a minimum of 3 days per week in Tysons Corner, VA.

Compensation: $86,000 – $129,000 per year (range; midpoint $107,500).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building or deploying data pipelines or data‑processing workflows (geospatial, NLP, or large‑scale datasets).
• Familiarity with large language models (LLMs) and AI‑assisted development tools (OpenAI, Hugging Face, etc.).
• Experience with structured QA, automated test suites, or model‑output evaluation.
• Exposure to graph databases (Neo4j) or analytics‑focused systems.
• Experience with cloud‑native development and AWS services for scalable, distributed systems.
• Internship, co‑op, or project experience in federal, research, or mission‑driven environments.
• Experience applying Agile or Scrum methodologies.
• Active or prior DoD/federal security clearance is a plus (not required).
