What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking a motivated Software Engineer — Test Automation to join their engineering team in Village of Skaneateles, NY. In this role you will help design, build, and maintain automated test suites that ensure product quality across web and/or API services.
- Design, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites.
- Write clear, maintainable automated tests for UI, API, and integration scenarios.
- Triage test failures, investigate root causes, and work with engineers to remediate issues.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and help improve test reliability and run-time.
- Collaborate with product, QA, and engineering teams to ensure test coverage aligns with product requirements.
- Contribute to test automation best practices, documentation, and tooling improvements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field — or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience writing automated tests or working in software QA/testing (internships or entry-level experience accepted).
- Basic programming skills in one or more languages used for test automation (for example: Python, Java, JavaScript).
- Familiarity with automated test concepts (test cases, test fixtures, assertions, mocks/stubs).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in a team environment and communicating across functions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools or frameworks (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, JUnit, pytest, etc.).
- Experience with API testing and tools such as Postman, RestAssured, or similar.
- Familiarity with CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.) and integrating tests into pipelines.
- Knowledge of version control (Git) and collaboration workflows.
- Experience debugging test flakiness and improving test reliability.
