What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and support secure, high-quality full‑stack applications used by government and contractor teams. You will participate across the software development lifecycle and help shape architecture, performance, and deployment practices.

• Gather and analyze specifications and requirements from system stakeholders
• Design and implement full‑stack solutions using Java (JEE) back ends and JavaScript front ends
• Build and enhance services using Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA and related frameworks
• Develop responsive UI components with Angular (14+), JavaScript and Ajax
• Design and tune PostgreSQL schemas, queries and indexes for performance and reliability
• Deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain applications on Tomcat, JBoss or similar application servers
• Perform unit and integration testing; participate in code reviews and CI/CD workflows
• Identify and eliminate performance bottlenecks across the stack
• Collaborate with system owners, government stakeholders, and contractor teams to align deliverables with program goals
• Document system changes, troubleshooting steps, and architecture decisions
• Contribute to technical standards, security best practices, and team knowledge-sharing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
• 8+ years of professional software development experience
• Deep experience with Java and JEE application development
• Strong hands‑on experience with Spring Boot and Spring Data JPA
• Proven front‑end experience using Angular (v14+) and JavaScript/Ajax
• Solid PostgreSQL design and optimization skills
• Experience deploying and maintaining apps on Tomcat and JBoss (or equivalent)
• Active Top Secret security clearance required (must be currently active)
• Ability to pass background checks and meet ongoing security requirements

• Proficient with Microsoft and Adobe toolsets (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat)
• Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills for cross‑functional work
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting capabilities
• Clear written and verbal communication; strong documentation habits
• Comfortable working in dynamic, sometimes time‑sensitive program environments
• Ability to interpret technical requirements and coordinate specialized teams to resolve gaps

• Familiarity with Atlassian suite (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket)
• Experience working in Agile development teams and iterative delivery models
• Prior work supporting government or defense programs a plus
