What You’ll Do
Confidential Client’s Quantitative Development team builds, modernizes, and maintains research and portfolio tools used by Portfolio Management, Strategy, and Research. In this Software Engineer role you’ll help modernize existing applications, develop new analytics and integration solutions, and ensure work follows secure SDLC practices.
- Collaborate with business partners and researchers to gather and document technical requirements
- Design, implement, and maintain integration solutions with third‑party data providers and internal systems
- Build robust unit, integration, and functional tests to ensure quality and repeatability
- Conduct and participate in code reviews and merge-request reviews
- Advocate for and implement secure coding practices and security features across applications
- Research and prototype cross-functional software initiatives; hand off production-ready components to other teams as needed
- Recommend improvements to tools, processes, and technology stack based on current trends and team needs
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered, candidates should have:
- Experience working on production software projects with formal SDLC practices
- Proven ability to design and deliver integration solutions with external data providers or APIs
- Strong testing mindset with experience writing unit/integration/functional tests
- Demonstrated experience participating in code reviews and mentoring peers
- Understanding of secure software development principles and implementing security-related features
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship at the time of hire
Preferred Qualifications
Nice-to-have skills and experiences that will help you succeed faster:
- Experience supporting quantitative research, backtesting, portfolio construction, or transition analysis tools
- Background in data engineering or building analytics platforms used by trading/research teams
- Familiarity with cloud deployments, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code
- Experience contributing to cross-functional, enterprise-level software initiatives
Location & Work Arrangement
This role is based in the Greater Seattle Area (WA). The Confidential Client may offer a mix of on-site and hybrid schedules depending on team needs. Specific work arrangement details will be shared during the hiring process.
