What You’ll Do

Lead development of durable, highly available metadata services that support a massive distributed storage platform.

• Develop software that ensures the durability and availability of key-value metadata for a global distributed storage system.
• Solve complex computer-science problems related to managing trillions of objects and highly variable access patterns.
• Design, implement, and own highly available 24x7 services that meet demanding customer SLAs.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and help diagnose and resolve production incidents with a focus on minimizing customer impact.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design next-generation systems for cloud storage and scalable web services.
• Write clean, testable code and contribute to system design, capacity planning, and performance tuning.

What You’ll Need

We welcome applicants who meet the core experience and skill expectations below.

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years designing or architecting systems with attention to reliability and scalability.
• 1+ years building large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, or distributed applications using languages such as C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• 1+ years working with Object-Oriented Design principles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong programming ability in at least one modern language; experience with systems-level or backend service development preferred.
• Comfortable working in an environment with production on-call responsibilities.
