About the Role

Confidential Client is hiring a Software Engineer, SDK to build and maintain the open-source SDKs that power LLM evaluation and AI observability pipelines. These libraries are embedded in customer applications and support integrations with major AI providers and frameworks. You’ll own the full SDK lifecycle — design, implementation, release, documentation, and community support — focusing on developer experience, reliability, and performance.

What You’ll Do

  • Build elegant, idiomatic, and resilient SDKs that power LLM evaluation and AI observability.
  • Prioritize developer experience: clean APIs, clear docs, thoughtful error handling, and backward compatibility.
  • Integrate SDKs with major AI providers and frameworks (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) and commonly used runtimes.
  • Create tools and automation for testing, profiling, and streamlined release workflows.
  • Collaborate with backend, platform, and product teams to deliver a cohesive developer experience.
  • Engage with the community: triage issues, review and accept contributions, and help users adopt the SDKs.

You Might Be a Fit If You:

  • Are customer-obsessed and focused on solving real problems for developers.
  • Have deep expertise in one or more of: JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Go, and understand what it takes to build idiomatic, production-grade libraries.
  • Are proficient with SDK/tooling ecosystems: testing frameworks, profilers, CI/CD pipelines, and packaging systems.
  • Care deeply about API design, documentation, and developer ergonomics.
  • Know how to extend or wrap existing frameworks/SDKs to inject observability without breaking developer workflows.
  • Have contributed to or maintained production-grade open-source libraries used across multiple environments.

Nice to Have

  • Contributions to popular open-source projects or experience leading SDK adoption at an organization.
  • Familiarity with tracing and observability tooling (e.g., OpenTelemetry).
  • Experience working on tools in the LLM / AI ecosystem or building evaluation pipelines.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Daily lunch, snacks, and beverages
  • Flexible time off
  • Competitive salary and equity
  • Wifi & cellphone stipend

Location & Employment Type
