What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain control and embedded software used in advanced equipment. You will work on real-time systems that interact with hardware (motors, pumps, sensors, robots) and on higher-level components that include data collection, user interfaces, analytics, and tooling to support production and test.

• Design, prototype, implement, and test software for complex, real‑time systems
• Troubleshoot and resolve difficult software issues; design and implement bug fixes
• Develop and prototype user interfaces and operator-facing software components
• Create and maintain software specifications, documentation, and test plans
• Build test benches, simulator tests, and lab verification procedures
• Interface with internal stakeholders to capture requirements, prioritize work, and communicate status
• Contribute to algorithm design for system control, data collection, and analysis workflows

Technical Skills & Tools

• Proficiency in C and C++ (required)
• Experience with embedded programming and real‑time control systems
• Familiarity with multi‑threading and concurrency techniques
• Experience or knowledge in motion control and hardware interfaces (e.g., CAN Bus)
• Familiarity with development environments such as Visual Studio; experience with C#, .NET or Matlab is a plus
• Comfortable reading, diagnosing, and improving complex system behavior

What We’re Looking For (Qualifications)

• Master’s degree plus 1+ years of professional software engineering experience, or
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Demonstrated ability to solve moderately difficult to complex technical problems using judgment and experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build consensus across teams
• Track record of producing high‑quality code, tests, and documentation

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary range: USD 124,000 – 171,000 per year (salary shown reflects the range for this role; final compensation is based on factors including experience, location, and internal equity)
• Eligible candidates may also participate in bonus and equity programs where applicable
• Confidential Client offers a comprehensive benefits package (medical, retirement, paid time off, etc.). Specific benefits and eligibility vary by location and role.
