What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain control and embedded software used in advanced equipment. You will work on real-time systems that interact with hardware (motors, pumps, sensors, robots) and on higher-level components that include data collection, user interfaces, analytics, and tooling to support production and test.
- Design, prototype, implement, and test software for complex, real‑time systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve difficult software issues; design and implement bug fixes
- Develop and prototype user interfaces and operator-facing software components
- Create and maintain software specifications, documentation, and test plans
- Build test benches, simulator tests, and lab verification procedures
- Interface with internal stakeholders to capture requirements, prioritize work, and communicate status
- Contribute to algorithm design for system control, data collection, and analysis workflows
Technical Skills & Tools
- Proficiency in C and C++ (required)
- Experience with embedded programming and real‑time control systems
- Familiarity with multi‑threading and concurrency techniques
- Experience or knowledge in motion control and hardware interfaces (e.g., CAN Bus)
- Familiarity with development environments such as Visual Studio; experience with C#, .NET or Matlab is a plus
- Comfortable reading, diagnosing, and improving complex system behavior
What We’re Looking For (Qualifications)
- Master’s degree plus 1+ years of professional software engineering experience, or
- Bachelor’s degree plus 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Demonstrated ability to solve moderately difficult to complex technical problems using judgment and experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build consensus across teams
- Track record of producing high‑quality code, tests, and documentation
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: USD 124,000 – 171,000 per year (salary shown reflects the range for this role; final compensation is based on factors including experience, location, and internal equity)
- Eligible candidates may also participate in bonus and equity programs where applicable
