What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring a Software Engineer to design and build reusable customer and developer-facing experiences for identity verification (IDV) and agreement workflows. You will work on hybrid, cross-functional teams to create secure, scalable front-end components and backend services that integrate with third-party IDV/document verification providers and internal identity systems.

  • Think about and solve problems at scale with performance, reliability, and security in mind
  • Write high-quality, well-tested, ship-ready code (front-end + back-end)
  • Design and implement component-based user interfaces (React + TypeScript) and core functionality to enable administrators and developers to configure workflows without custom coding
  • Build secure, resilient backend services and REST/GraphQL APIs that orchestrate IDV flows, document verification, risk checks, and decisioning
  • Integrate with third-party IDV/document verification vendors, handle webhooks and asynchronous workflows, and implement robust error handling and monitoring
  • Collaborate with product, security, privacy, and platform teams to translate requirements into design and ensure compliance when handling sensitive identity data
  • Respond to and debug high-priority production issues and participate in on-call rotations as required
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, testing automation, and deployment processes for regional cloud environments

Qualifications

Basic

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Informatics, or equivalent experience
  • Strong experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern front-end frameworks (React, Redux or similar)
  • Familiarity with backend development and API design (REST/GraphQL), asynchronous processing, and service orchestration
  • Experience with source control (Git) and working in Agile/Scrum environments

Preferred

  • Experience designing and building secure, high-availability backend services for identity, authentication, or risk/fraud workflows
  • Hands-on experience integrating identity verification (IDV), KYC, or document verification providers and building decisioning/business rules
  • Experience handling sensitive PII and identity data in compliance with security/privacy best practices (encryption in transit/at rest, access controls, audit logging)
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and regional cloud deployments
  • Strong debugging skills for production incidents and ability to prioritize in a fast-moving environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, and empathy for developer-focused products
  • Experience building user-facing verification flows (document upload, selfie capture, guided verification) in web or mobile apps
