What You’ll Do
As a Software Engineer with Confidential Client you will design and build scalable, reliable systems that power core products used by millions. You will work across the stack and take ownership from design through production.
- Design, develop, and test software components and services
- Build high-performance data pipelines and distributed systems
- Implement and maintain observability, monitoring, and alerting for production services
- Diagnose and resolve production incidents and performance problems
- Collaborate with product, data, and infrastructure teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
- Participate in architecture and design reviews and help improve engineering processes
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, or related field, plus 2 years of relevant experience
- 2 years working with one or more of: C++, Python, Java
- Experience with version control systems such as GIT or SVN
- Strong SQL or MySQL experience
- Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms
- Experience designing technology stacks and applying software development lifecycle practices
- Demonstrated debugging, monitoring, and production support experience
- Experience building or operating distributed systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building low-latency, high-throughput systems or large-scale storage platforms
- Familiarity with cloud services and containerized deployments
- Background in designing high-performance data pipelines
- Strong systems-thinking and experience with observability tools
- Mentorship experience and ability to influence cross-functional teams
Compensation & Benefits
- Rate of pay: $171,000 to $209,000 per year
- Eligible for bonus programs and may be offered other types of compensation such as equity
- Competitive benefits package; details provided by recruiter during the hiring process
Work Location & Schedule
- This role is based in San Francisco, CA
- Offices are important for collaboration; unless approved for full remote work, employees are expected to spend at least 50% of their time in-office
- Some telecommute flexibility may be available depending on role requirements and approval
