Role Overview
Confidential Client is an applied AI software development organization building AI-native products and agents. This role is an individual-contributor software engineering position focused on designing, building, and shipping production-quality features across frontend, backend, and platform systems. You'll work on agent-building tools, real-time collaboration, low-latency voice features, and infrastructure that scales to enterprise customers.
What You’ll Do
- Design, build, and ship production software using React, TypeScript, Node.js, and Python.
- Own projects end-to-end: design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
- Partner with customers and product teams to turn feedback into product improvements.
- Build features that support agent construction, real-time collaboration, enterprise workflows, and human-agent interaction.
- Improve platform performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Implement low-latency voice AI capabilities for live calls and coaching tools.
- Develop tools and automation to accelerate engineering and product maintenance.
- Work across the full agent lifecycle: building, simulation, evaluation, monitoring, and feedback loops.
- Optimize agent efficiency and cost through improved agent design and context engineering.
- Write clean, maintainable code and participate in thoughtful code review.
What We’re Looking For
We value problem solving, ownership, and impact over checklist match. You’ll likely be a great fit if you:
- Are completing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Have built software or agents through internships, research, open source, startups, or personal projects.
- Have demonstrated persistence in solving hard technical problems.
- Care about product quality and user outcomes.
- Love learning new technologies and applying them to real problems — experience with React, TypeScript, Node.js, or Python is a plus but not strictly required.
- Thrive in fast-moving environments where engineers take ownership and influence product decisions.
- Communicate technical ideas clearly and collaborate well with teammates.
- Are able to work from the San Francisco, CA office.
How We Work
- Ownership — ship to production quickly and progressively take end-to-end responsibility for customer and product outcomes.
- Customer Empathy — talk directly with customers and iterate based on how they use the product.
- Intensity — move quickly and deliberately to deliver the best product for customers.
- Agency — good ideas can come from anywhere; engineers are empowered to propose and drive change.
- AI-native — you’ll work in an environment focused on agent-first product design and on learning how to leverage agents to increase engineering leverage.
