About the Role

Confidential Client is a venture-backed industrial AI company building an operations platform for teams that design and manufacture complex hardware. This is a full-time, in-office Software Engineer role based in San Francisco, CA. The team moves quickly, expects high ownership, and works directly with customers in aerospace, defense, energy, and other advanced hardware sectors.

---

What You’ll Do

• Own the full lifecycle of major features: design, build, test, ship, and maintain production systems
• Spend time with customers to understand engineering and manufacturing workflows and translate that into impactful software
• Build performant, reliable systems designed to scale with fast-growing, technically complex customers
• Influence the technical direction of the platform and the engineering organization
• Tackle cross-cutting technical problems with a “get it done” mindset and a bias for ownership

You will be placed on one of several product areas (engineering data, supply chain, production, planning, or commercial/product tooling).

---

What We’re Looking For

• Experience building complex, scalable systems and taking features from zero to production
• Strong proficiency in one or more of: Rust, Python, TypeScript, Java (or similar modern languages)
• Demonstrated ownership, urgency, and the ability to iterate quickly with high quality
• Comfortable working on a high-intensity, in-office team (levels open from early-career to senior/staff — ownership and output matter most)
• Excellent communication skills and eagerness to learn from customers and domain experts

---

Tech Stack

• Frontend: React, TypeScript, Next.js
• Backend: Rust, Python
• Data & Infra: PostgreSQL, NoSQL, AWS (commercial & GovCloud)
• Tooling: Docker, containerized services

---

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $100,000 - $200,000+ (base range provided) plus meaningful equity and potential bonus
• Medical, dental, and vision coverage
• Lunch and dinner provided daily (onsite)
• Unlimited PTO
• Note for California applicants: the posted base salary range above reflects the compensation range for this role in California.

---

Eligibility & Work Authorization

This role involves access to export-controlled technical data (ITAR). Applicants must be one of the following: U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee or asylee, or otherwise eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorization. Reasonable accommodations are available; please request any needed support during the process.
