What You’ll Do
This role is for a full‑stack Software Engineer who will own meaningful product and infrastructure work that improves data quality, reliability, and the customer experience at scale. Working for a confidential client on the Data Management / Trust Engine area, you will:
- Ship end-to-end features — take well-scoped projects from design through delivery across backend services, data pipelines, and user-facing React/TypeScript surfaces.
- Contribute to technical direction — participate in design reviews, propose scalable solutions, and help define patterns and best practices.
- Uphold operational excellence — instrument services, contribute to SLO definitions, respond to incidents, and improve reliability.
- Build for scale and correctness — design ingestion and governance workflows with attention to throughput, latency, caching, testing, and resilience.
- Build foundations for trusted data — implement shared data health evaluation frameworks, metadata ingestion, observability (anomalies, schema drift), and safe cleanup workflows.
- Expand support for non-event data models — help architect entities, metrics, and dimensional data governance under a unified taxonomy.
- Leverage session replay signals — use replay-driven signals to surface untracked interactions, propose event/property instrumentation, and reduce instrumentation gaps.
- Partner cross-functionally — work closely with Product, Design, Analytics, Pipeline/Query, AI foundations, and GTM teams; engage with customers to ground technical decisions in real needs.
- Mentor and grow others — participate in code/design reviews, share knowledge, and invest in your development and teammates’ growth.
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong full‑stack engineering background with proven ownership of features spanning backend and front-end systems in distributed, microservices architectures.
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js and React) and/or Python.
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS) and modern infra tooling.
- Operational mindset: observability (metrics/logs/traces), automated testing, CI/CD, and reliability-first practices.
- Experience designing and building APIs and interactive UIs that serve product and customer needs.
- Strong communicator who can articulate tradeoffs and collaborate with cross-functional partners.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to Have
- Domain experience in event analytics, data governance/taxonomy, or metadata systems.
- Experience with session replay, non-event data models, RBAC/privacy controls, and experimentation platforms.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted automation or building AI/ML-enabled product features.
Location & Work Authorization
- This role is based in the San Francisco Bay Area (California). Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the USA; the confidential client cannot provide relocation or visa sponsorship unless explicitly stated in follow-up communications.
Benefits & Perks
The confidential client offers a competitive benefits package that typically includes (where applicable):
- Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision plans (employer-paid options available on select plans).
- Flexible time off, paid holidays, and parental leave (generous paid parental leave policies).
- Stipends for wellness, commuter transit, learning & development, and home-office equipment.
- Mental health and wellness resources, and access to high-quality care in select U.S. locations.
- Employee stock purchase or equity programs where available.
Why You’ll Like Working Here
You’ll join a mission-driven engineering organization that values humility, ownership, and a growth mindset. The team prioritizes delivering customer impact, learning continuously, and collaborating across disciplines to solve hard problems in analytics and data trust.
