What You’ll Do

You will join a confidential client’s engineering team as a contract Software Engineer working remotely across the United States. In this role you will:

• Build, test, and maintain software components that deliver measurable business value
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and recruiters to translate requirements into reliable solutions
• Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, and iterative improvement of the codebase
• Follow established CI/CD and quality processes to ship updates safely and frequently
• Document design decisions and implementation details to support team onboarding and handoffs

Who You Are

You’re a motivated software engineer who can work independently on remote contracts and deliver high-quality results. You are:

• Comfortable contributing to a team in a distributed (remote) environment
• Effective at communicating technical trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Focused on quality, testing, and maintainability

Minimum Qualifications

• Professional experience as a software engineer (industry-standard experience for contract roles)
• Ability to work as a contractor in the United States (compliance with client-specific onboarding & background checks may be required)
• Strong problem-solving skills and familiarity with standard software development workflows

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience delivering features on tight timelines in a remote setting
• Prior contract or consulting experience

Compensation & Logistics

• Employment type: Contract (Contractor/Associate)
• Rate: $245.00/hour – $280.00/hour (base pay range provided by the confidential client)
• Location: Remote — United States (work performed remotely; candidate must be eligible to work in the U.S.)
• Expected start: dependent on client schedule; interviews and onboarding coordinated by Careertakes
