Role Overview

This is a remote, contract Senior Software Engineer role supporting a Confidential Client. This position is fully remote across the United States and offers a competitive hourly rate of $30–$100/hr (depending on experience and scope). You'll join a distributed engineering team and contribute to design, development, and delivery of production software.

What You’ll Do

• Own design, implementation, testing, and delivery of features for production systems
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define technical requirements and scope
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code; participate in code reviews
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues; monitor and improve system reliability and performance
• Contribute to architecture and design discussions; propose pragmatic solutions and technical improvements
• Help maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment workflows
• Mentor more junior engineers and share engineering best practices

Minimum Qualifications

• Senior-level experience as a software engineer (typically 5+ years)
• Proven experience building and shipping production software in a professional environment
• Strong software engineering fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, design patterns)
• Experience with version control and collaborative workflows (e.g., Git)
• Comfortable working in a remote, cross-functional team

• Prior experience on contract or distributed engineering teams
• Familiarity with automated testing, CI/CD, and observability practices
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
• Experience mentoring or leading small technical initiatives
