What You’ll Do

This Confidential Client is hiring a Senior Frontend Software Engineer (React) to build high-performance, large-scale user interfaces used in production systems. You will join a team that ships greenfield and iterative UI projects with strong emphasis on performance, reliability, and real-time behavior.

• Design and implement responsive React.js applications with a focus on runtime performance and low latency
• Build and optimize front-end systems that interact with high-throughput ML/real-time data pipelines
• Collaborate with backend engineers, ML researchers, and product teams to define APIs and deliver end-to-end features
• Lead code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and establish front-end best practices
• Diagnose performance bottlenecks and implement solutions (render optimization, network and bundle sizing, caching strategies)
• Participate in architecture discussions and choose libraries/tools that scale for millions of events per second
• Own feature delivery from design through testing and production rollout

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional Frontend/React development experience
• Strong practical knowledge of React (hooks, component lifecycles), modern JavaScript (ES6+), and tooling (Webpack, Vite, etc.)
• Demonstrated expertise in performance optimization and frontend profiling
• Experience building real-time or low-latency UIs (WebSockets, Server-Sent Events, streaming data)
• Proven track record working on large-scale systems or high-throughput applications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical degree from a reputable institution
• Location requirement: New York, NY (onsite or hybrid as specified by the client)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with frontend observability and performance monitoring tools (Lighthouse, Sentry, Datadog RUM)
• Familiarity with TypeScript, modern state management (Redux, Zustand, Recoil), and CSS-in-JS or performant styling strategies
• Background working with teams that support ML pipelines or real-time analytics
• Strong software design fundamentals and systems thinking
