Confidential Client’s Research & Development (R&D) Engineering Development Program is a 20-month rotational program that builds technical and leadership skills for early-career engineers. Participants complete on-site rotations across R&D functions, receive technical and professional training, and gain exposure to senior leadership and cross-functional teams. The program is designed to accelerate career development and prepare engineers for long-term roles in product development and innovation.
Who We’re Looking For
Confidential Client seeks motivated, analytical, and collaborative early-career software engineers who are passionate about building high-quality application software for medical devices and robotic systems. What You’ll Do
- Support the design and implementation of application software that controls, navigates, and serves as the user interface for robotic surgical systems, using Agile development practices.
- Execute software product development activities under supervision according to defined requirements and architecture.
- Participate as a member of a Scrum team; collaborate with R&D, Quality, Marketing, and Project Management to ensure project success.
- Follow established SDLC procedures: perform code reviews, unit/component testing, static/dynamic analysis, and defect management.
- Assist in preparing and maintaining software engineering documentation consistent with R&D procedures and the Quality Management System (QMS).
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 0+ years of professional experience (entry-level/new graduate).
- Minimum cumulative GPA: 3.0 (or equivalent).
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring employment-based sponsorship now or in the future.
- Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms.
- Exposure to C++ and object-oriented programming.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter with demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills and good time-management practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with IDEs and modern development workflows.
- Familiarity with Qt/QML, Linux, Docker, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
- Experience with tools for static/dynamic code analysis, memory management, unit testing, and code coverage.
- Coursework or experience in linear algebra, computational geometry, computer graphics, image processing, or robotics.
- Interest or experience in safety-critical software development and regulated product environments.
Compensation & Benefits
- United States pay ranges (example ranges from client): USN: $77,700 - $129,500 USD annually (region-specific ranges may vary).
