What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an embedded software engineer to design, build, test, and maintain software for mission‑critical systems.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software throughout the lifecycle, ensuring compliance with applicable industry, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Translate customer and system requirements into software designs, interface definitions, and architecture documentation.
- Implement unit and integration tests; participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and reliability.
- Support system integration and system‑level testing; troubleshoot and optimize system performance.
- Produce clear, maintainable documentation to support sustainment and future modifications.
- Work closely with cross‑functional teams (hardware, systems, test, security) to deliver secure, operational solutions.
- Drive process improvements and adopt best practices for embedded software development and verification.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, data science, physics, chemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum 1+ years of professional experience programming in C++, Python, and C#.
- Hands‑on experience with Linux development and version control systems (Git).
- Familiarity with network protocols and architectures (TCP/UDP).
- Experience with embedded systems development, software validation, and verification methods.
- Strong problem solving, systems thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship required for clearance eligibility).
Preferred
- 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Active U.S. Secret Clearance or higher.
- Experience with software architecture, design methodologies, and modern development toolchains.
Nice to Have
- Experience with real‑time operating systems (RTOS) or hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL) testing.
- Familiarity with CMake, CI/CD pipelines, and automated test frameworks.
- Prior work on defense, aerospace, or special access programs.
