Software Engineer
The Software Development Engineer II at Confidential Client will design, develop, and maintain scalable FinTech platform applications using modern Java technologies, microservices, and cloud-native tools. What You’ll Do
Join the FinTech Engineering team to design, build, and maintain scalable platform services that power payments and member-facing financial products.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain platform features using Java 21 and Spring Boot 3.x.
- Build clean, efficient, scalable, and maintainable microservices and RESTful APIs.
- Integrate third-party services and backend systems securely and reliably.
- Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to application architecture decisions.
- Develop and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure high-quality releases.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues and performance bottlenecks.
- Work with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, and automated quality tools (e.g., SonarQube).
- Containerize and deploy applications using Docker and Kubernetes on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Follow secure development practices and help maintain compliance with applicable FinTech/security standards (e.g., PCI-DSS).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of professional experience building backend systems with Java (Java 21) and Spring Boot (3.x).
- Strong experience with microservices architecture and building RESTful APIs.
- Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (for example, PostgreSQL and MongoDB).
- Practical experience with Docker; familiarity with Kubernetes.
- Experience using Git and CI/CD pipelines to automate build and deploy processes.
- Experience writing unit and integration tests using frameworks like JUnit and Mockito.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Jenkins and Kubernetes operational practices.
- Exposure to React or other frontend technologies.
- Prior experience in FinTech, payments, or transaction-processing systems.
- Familiarity with PCI-DSS and data-security best practices.
- Use of additional automated testing or mutation testing tools (e.g., PIT).
