Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Software Engineer (Dec.26/May 27 grads) to join an early-career cohort in Overland Park, KS. This role contributes across the full software development lifecycle to build SaaS and EMR-focused healthcare solutions. The position requires on-site presence in Overland Park and is not eligible for visa sponsorship or relocation assistance.
What You’ll Do
- Contribute across the software development lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, testing, and deployment
- Design, build, and ship software components with guidance from senior engineers
- Write and maintain SQL scripts and work with relational databases for data modeling and queries
- Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis to maintain product quality
- Learn and apply cloud-based SaaS architecture patterns and tools
- Build working knowledge of clinical and financial workflows to inform solutions
- Support production systems as part of a rotational on-call schedule (may require availability outside standard business hours)
- Continuously seek new tools and approaches to solve problems and improve delivery
What You’ll Bring (Required)
- Ability to work onsite in Overland Park, KS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- Foundational knowledge of programming concepts, compilers/lexical and syntax fundamentals
- Experience with relational databases, data modeling, and SQL scripting
- Familiarity or strong interest in cloud-based SaaS architectures
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies independently
- Strong time-management skills and an aptitude for delivering high-quality work on schedule
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship experience with a software company or within a healthcare organization
- Exposure to EMR/healthcare platforms or clinical workflows
- Familiarity with modern source control, CI/CD, and code review practices
